Twofour and Eye Film and TV are to co-produce Save Our Boozer (working title) for UKTV. The 5 x 60’ formatted ob-doc series will see millionaire landlord Jay Smith lead five communities as they revamp their stricken pubs, taking them over for good as part of a mission to bring back the great British boozer in their home town. Everyone involved will be trained in all the necessary skills to run their pub as a successful not for profit organisation, ploughing any money made back into their community. Executive produced by UKTV’s Catherine Catton, Twofour’s Melanie Leach and Eye’s Charlie Gauvain, The People’s Pub (w/t) will premiere on Blighty from 27th April.
