Twofour appoints Greg Barnett as Head of Entertainment

Twofour has promoted Greg Barnett to head up its Entertainment Division. Greg joined Twofour in June 2007 as series producer on Are You Smarter Than A Ten Year Old? and Sky's re-launch of Noel's Christmas Presents, going on to be Executive Producer of the second series of both of these in 2008.
Melanie Leach, Managing Director Twofour Broadcast said: "Greg has played a crucial role in growing Twofour's Entertainment slate and has been instrumental in securing a number of our most significant commissions. Under his guidance Noel's Christmas Presents achieved the largest Christmas multi channel audience with 1.4 million viewers last year and paved the way for Noel's HQ which is returning for a 5 x 60' live run in January 2009.
"Entertainment is now at the very heart of Twofour's output. Alongside Are You Smarter? and in addition to this year's Christmas Presents and Noel's HQ, Twofour is also about to launch the Sun's Military Awards this week which will be presented by Tess Daly. With such a strong slate, we're delighted to have someone of Greg's calibre as our Head of Entertainment."
Greg started his career in the entertainment department at Granada in 1996, working on You've Been Framed!, Stars In Their Eyes, University Challenge and two successful ITV pilots Give Your Mate A Break and Find A Fortune. He moved to Blaze Television as Associate Producer and helped ITV beat the beeb in the Saturday morning ratings with SM:TV Live which he later produced. He then went on to produce and help launch many successful entertainment shows such as All New TV's Naughtiest Blunders, Strictly Come Dancing – It Takes Two; Strictly Dance Fever; Soapstar Superstar, Bullseye, Take It Or Leave It and Golden Balls.
Greg said: "Twofour is a brilliant place to work and there are lots of entertainment ideas we're developing for a range of broadcasters in 2009. I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to expand on these, and the existing portfolio of commissions, with Melanie Leach and Stuart Murphy. It will be both fun and challenging."
Greg takes up his new position immediately and will report to twofour's Creative Director, Stuart Murphy.
