Damian's Are You Smarter Than Your 10 Year Old? Sundays at 7pm on Sky1 and Sky1 HD
Real Crime

New Rules, New Teacher - The new series of the Twofour produced Are You Smarter Than Your Ten Year Old? for Sky 1 has a few important and exciting changes. Newcomer Damian Williams joins the roster to take control of the daytime series. Damian is a fresh new face for Sky1 and will be bringing his unique style and cheeky chappy charm to the Nation’s favourite classroom.

Get ready for a bit of family rivalry and competition as contestants will be playing alongside their own relatives. Instead of being assisted by a regular class of ten year olds the new series of Damian’s Are You Smarter Than Your Ten Year Old? will see contestants asking for help from their own ten year old relative (son, daughter, niece, nephew, granddaughter, grandson) and four of his or her school friends.

Damian Williams commented: “I can’t wait to get started. I’m chuffed to be taking over the reins of such a popular and well loved quiz show and hope to inject a real sense of fun into the daytime episodes.”

Clare Hollywood, Commissioning Editor Entertainment Sky1 HD, Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3 commented: “I’m excited by the changes we have introduced, the twist of having a child and adult who are related taking part brings a whole new dimension to the show as the ‘young uns’ take on the ‘big uns’. And Damian is such great showman, he is an untapped talent who will entertain our audience with his own inimitable style and humour.”

Damian’s Are You Smarter Than Your Ten Year Old? challenges adults to win big money based on questions from UK school textbooks and the National Curriculum, Key Stages 1 & 2. For each question the player answers correctly the jackpot increases. A ‘class’ of ten year olds are there playing along too and can be called upon for their help provided the adult still has at least one of their 3 “cheats” in play. Peek means the adult can check their classmates answer and they can choose to either use this answer or go with their own. Copy allows the grown-up to use their 10-year-old team-mate’s answer if they are stumped, but once they’ve made this decision, the answer cannot be rejected. The Save cheat is triggered automatically if the grown-up gives a wrong answer, but their 10-year-old team-mate is right - this can only happen once in the game.
