05/02/2008 BEAT: LIFE ON THE STREET - ITV1 AT 5.00PM ON SUNDAY 10 FEBRUARY

Beat: Life on the Street continues this Sunday on ITV1 at 5.00pm. Up in Preston the Brookfield’s Neighbourhood Police Team is working closely with David Lingard an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer from the Gateway Housing Association. The team is focusing on the notorious Greenlands area, which has had more then its fair share of crime. David with Sergeant Abid Majid and Police Community Support Officer Matt Witte attempt to distribute letters to local Residents but come under attack from Fireworks by local youths. Things get worse for Lingard later as the Police are called out on a Code 1 emergency to come to his aid after his life is threatened by a Tenant. In Oxford we meet up with Community Cop PC Paul Phillips for the first time. He’s been a Thames Valley Policeman for over twenty years, and knows his Beat like the back of his hand. In this programme we see him dealing with drug users, rough sleepers, and drunks in and around central Oxford. We also meet up with PC Sarah Baker and PC Ollie Jacques as they patrol their Cowley Road beat, where street drinking and drugs are an ever present problem for them to sort out.
