Dr In The House (working title) is a wake up call for young boozers, bingers and party animals. The 8 x 60' series gives a selection of fun lovers a chance to see the harm they are doing to their bodies before it's too late.
Each week the lifestyle of an over-the-top contributor is examined to find out what damage their excesses are doing to their looks and body. Using state-of-the-art technology we will see exactly what's going on in their insides. What impact are all the drugs, drink, bad diet and ciggies having on their organs? They might not look too great on the outside, but what about their insides? How has their lifestyle prematurely aged them? And how much time is there left to try and slow down the ageing process?
After an emergency intervention, the contributor is given a Live Autopsy in front of concerned friends and family. A complete diagnostic breakdown of their body's state of decay is determined and a course of action is given. They don't want to give up all the fun things in life - but nor do they want to get old before their time. One of the programme's resident doctors will show them how to square the circle.
To reverse the damage done to their body, the contributor spends several weeks with a dedicated doctor, helping them curb their addiction to excess and life on the edge. The team will go to the core of their wayward behaviour.
The state-of-the-art incision graphics system used in the series has been developed by HMC Interactive (part of the Twofour Group) and is a combination of live interactive graphics and flexible surface projection.
Dr In The House (working title) is series produced by Twofour's Sarah Wood, series directed by James Capria and executive produced by Joe Houlihan and Stuart Murphy. The BBC series commissioner is Maxine Watson.
