The Estate We're In begins its weeklong run on Monday 31 March on BBC ONE at 9.15am. The hard hitting daytime series features Silla Carron, an extraordinary woman who is campaigning to turn a deprived housing estate into a good place to live. Silla has already tackled drug dealers, teenage drinkers and gangs to transform her own council estate in London. With unprecedented access the cameras follow her as she turns her attention to the Wolseley Road flats in Plymouth. The 59 year old grandmother, whose efforts were recognised at Government level and who was awarded Neighbour of the Year believes what she achieved on her estate in Camden can be done anywhere. But she will have to use every tactic she knows and a huge amount of sheer bloodymindedness to transform the estate and the attitude of the residents.
