Twofour Chief Executive, Charles Wace, has been elected as the new Chair of Pact (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television), the independent trade association for independent feature film, television, animation and interactive media companies.
Charles, a longstanding member of Pact, has chaired its Nations and Regions Policy Group for the past two years, working to promote the interests of independent production companies outside London.
Charles, who will take up his new appointment in January 2008, will be supported by four vice chairs: RDF Media Group Commercial Director Debbie Manners who will oversee television; Slate Films' Andrea Calderwood who will focus on feature films; Novel Entertainment Managing Director Mike Watts who is responsible for children's and entertainment; and Ilumina Digital Managing Director Andrew Chitty who will remain as vice chair for interactive.
Pact Chief Executive, John McVay, said: "The Pact membership has elected a council of very high calibre to continue to drive forward Pact's agendas for 2008. Next year promises to be as challenging a year as Pact continues to work on behalf of its membership and the industry to improve services and drive policies."
Charles said: "I am honoured to have been elected. Pact's role in lobbying the government, regulators and public agencies and contributing to the public policy debates related to the media industry is a vital one and I am looking forward to meeting the challenge and promoting the interests of all Pact's members."
