Ben Fogle and Olympic gold medal winner, James Cracknell are ready for another challenge, something even harder, even bigger and even more difficult to win - the Race to the South Pole. Often described, as the toughest race on earth, the challenge will include skiing over 260 nautical miles while pulling a 150lb sled, facing temperatures of minus 50 degrees C and climbing 9300 feet.

We join them at the start line – 370 nautical miles from the South Pole at the Filcher Ice Shelf. The fastest teams have completed this race in 33 days – can Ben and James hope to break such an amazing record? Do they have what it takes to win the hardest race in the world or will they find themselves On Thin Ice?
