Serial killers are the dark stars of modern culture. But what makes a serial killer? This series takes an in-depth look at six notorious murderers from around the world. Schoolteachers and school-friends as well as family members are interviewed about the childhood of the killer. Investigating officers remember the crimes whilst profilers revisit their neighbourhoods and analyse the scene of the murders. The show searches to uncover the psychology of each killer to try to get an understanding of what drove them down the path to murder. Was it nature or nurture?
