A half hour documentary about ITN newsman Ed Mitchell’s battle with alcoholism and homelessness in which his friend and former ITN colleague, Carol Barnes, sets out to discover why Mitchell’s life has taken such a dramatic turn. Barnes - famously photographed with Mitchell in Downing St back in the early 1980s - paid Mitchell a surprise visit and the cameras follow him on the streets of Brighton before he checks into rehab at the Priory. A follow up documentary called Ed Mitchell: What Happened Next? has also been produced and went out on 26 January 2009.
