The Truth About Beauty
The Truth About Beauty
(2008) 5 x 60' Factual Entertainment

Five programmes dedicated to anti-ageing and beauty presented by Martine McCutcheon (EastEnders, Love Actually, Echo Beach). The Truth About Beauty looks at latest anti-ageing treatments and, in conjunction with a Glamour magazine survey, reveals all you need to know to keep the ravages of time at bay.

The Truth about Beauty has five themes, one for each episode. 'Road test' tries out three different non-invasive ways to tackle the signs of ageing; 'turn back the clock' takes four women on a six week challenge to look younger through diet and exercise alone; the 'surgery' strand sees four different women go under the knife to regain their youthful looks and 'icons of ageing' looks at the women voted as the most beautiful for each age group and the overall icon of ageing from the Glamour survey. Finally, in a very personal journey, we follow Martine to Paris, the city she thinks is the best place to find beautiful women.

Quotes:
"I'm really excited about this series. Like most girls I'm always reading about the latest lotions and potions and I'm looking forward to really getting under the skin of the beauty industry, to find out what actually works and what's a waste of time and money. "
